GROW YOUR KNOWLEDGE
The Cut Flower Quarterly is the only periodical dedicated to informing growers about the production, postharvest care, and marketing of cut flowers. The Winter issue is home to the highly-anticipated ASCFG Trials results, including seed and perennial plant trials. The Fall issue is filled with photos and descriptions of the upcoming new varieties. Regular content covers integrated pest management, research updates, business management, and reports from growers and experts. Members say that The Cut Flower Quarterly is the only magazine they read from cover to cover, as soon as it is received. Click the cover to read a free issue.
Webinars: Grow your expertise with the ASCFG Ask an Expert monthly webinar series! Every month, experienced member growers and industry experts share the practical insights and hard-earned lessons that shaped their success. Each presentation wraps up with an interactive Q&A where you can get answers directly from the source. Live attendance isn't required—members can stream past sessions anytime on demand.
Mentor Program: We radically reimagined our Mentor Program and in Fall 2025, we launched our online cohort model. This Zoom-based program matched one expert with fifteen new growers based on their shared primary sales outlet/business model. We are thrilled to share that we are continuing the program for the 2026-2027 cohort.

FLOWER FORWARD
Cut Flower Trial Program The ASCFG Cut Flower Trials are recognized as the only national cut flower evaluations in the United States. Growers in all zones test new annual, perennial, bulb, and woody cut flower varieties for hardiness, yield, stem length, and marketability. Breeders and suppliers rely on these Trials as an integral part of their cultivar development and evaluation process. Data are compiled by Dr. John Dole at North Carolina State University, where postharvest testing is also done.
Grower Grants The ASCFG periodically awards funding from $500 to $2000 to cut flower growers for on-farm research. This program exists because a specialty cut flower farm relies on practical knowledge—knowledge that is often hard to find in academic literature because our crops, our markets, and our production systems are too specific, too diverse, and too dynamic for most research institutions to keep up with. The people who know what growers need to know are growers. The Grower Grant program is how we fund that knowledge and get it into print.
