ASCFG BIPOC 2022 Conference Scholarship

The Association of Specialty Cut Flower Growers, Inc. is dedicated to advancing the domestic cut flower industry, and to increasing diversity and inclusion in our membership and in the cut flower community at large. One of the best ways to achieve this is to support and encourage BIPOC farmers by facilitating their place at the table in our educational events.

With that goal in mind, the ASCFG will award full conference registration and hotel lodging July 31 to August 3, plus reimbursement up to $1,000 for travel expenses, to two farmers of color within our membership for the upcoming Rooted and Reconnected Conference in Framingham, Massachusetts. The two scholarship recipients will be selected at random.

How To Apply

The ASCFG BIPOC Conference Scholarship is open to anyone who meets the following criteria. Applicants must:

  1. Be a current member of the ASCFG.
  2. Have farmed for at least two seasons (including the 2022 season).
  3. Self-identify as a person of color.

Members who meet the above requirements but have already registered for the conference are welcome to apply and will be reimbursed if selected.

A complete application must include the following:

  • Applicant’s name, farm name and location.
  • A sentence certifying that you a) are a current ASCFG member and b) have farmed for at least two seasons.
  • One brief paragraph describing your farming background, and how you hope this conference will help you achieve your goals in flower farming. This information is for internal use only.

Applications must be received by July 18, 2022

Award Notification

Successful applicants will be notified by July 20, 2022, and will be reimbursed up to $1,000 immediately following the conference.
